Hello, and thank you for taking the time to find out a little more about me and why I started Amana.

Before I started Amana Companions, I spent years working across various care settings. I cared deeply about the people I supported — but something always felt missing. Everything felt rushed. The focus was on tasks, not people. And time and time again, I noticed the same thing: older adults didn't just need practical support — they needed company, conversation, and someone who genuinely had time for them.

Loneliness among older adults is something I feel passionately about. I saw first-hand how profoundly it affects people's mental health, confidence, and sense of worth — and I knew there had to be a better way.

The decision to start Amana Companions was inspired by a very special client, whose kindness and encouragement stayed with me long after they were gone. It is in their memory, and with a quiet determination to make a real difference, that Amana Companions was born.

I wanted to fill a different gap. One that focuses on what I believe is too often overlooked: time. Time is the one thing we are all equally given — and equally without guarantee of. To spend even a small part of it making someone feel seen, heard, and less alone feels like the most worthwhile thing I can imagine doing.

Amana Companions exists alongside the wider care community, not apart from it. We all share the same goal — and I believe there is so much we can learn from one another.

I have so much more I want to bring to this community — and I can't wait to share what's coming in the very near future!
